Detailed Morocco Desert Tour
Day 1: Fez โ Ifrane โ Midelt โ Erfoud โ Rissani โ Merzouga
Depart Fez and travel south through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Stop in Ifrane, often called the โSwitzerland of Morocco,โ then continue through cedar forests near Azrou. After lunch in Midelt, cross mountain passes and descend toward the Sahara. Arrive in Merzouga, on the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes, where youโll settle in and prepare for your desert experience.
Day 2: Sahara Desert โ Gnawa Village โ Dayet Srij Lake โ Sijilmassa Ruins โ Rissani Market โ Camel Trek โ Erg Chebbi
After breakfast, explore the Merzouga region, including a visit to a Gnawa village to learn about its music and culture. Continue to Dayet Srij Lake (seasonal) and the ancient ruins of Sijilmassa. Stop at Rissaniโs traditional market before returning to Merzouga. In the afternoon, ride camels into the dunes of Erg Chebbi, arriving at your desert camp in time to watch the sunset. Dinner and overnight under the stars.
After Lunch, you will set out to Moulay Idriss, one of the holiest cities in Morocco. Continue your Morocco travel to Fez, the historic center of Arts and Sciences in Morocco. You will be spending the night in at your Riad/ Hotel in Fez.

Wake early for sunrise over the dunes, then return by camel or 4ร4. Travel west through desert towns and palm-filled valleys. Visit the impressive Todra Gorge, with its sheer canyon walls, then continue through the scenic Dades Valley. Pass through Kelaat MโGouna, known for its rose products, before arriving in the Skoura oasis for the night.
Day 4: Skoura โ Ouarzazate โ Aรฏt Ben Haddou โ High Atlas Mountains โ Marrakech
After breakfast, visit Ouarzazate, Moroccoโs โHollywood of Africa,โ then continue to the UNESCO-listed Aรฏt Ben Haddou Kasbah. Cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi nโTichka Pass, enjoying spectacular views along the way. Arrive in Marrakech in the late afternoon, where the tour ends.
