Detailed 9 day Morocco Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Marrakech
Welcome to Marrakechโthe vibrant city of hammams, colorful souks, and magnificent palaces. After arrival, youโll settle into an authentic Moroccan riad near the medina. In the evening, visit the legendary Jemaa el-Fna square, alive day and night with craftsmen, musicians, storytellers, dancers, and food stalls offering unforgettable local flavors.
Marrakech is made up of the ancient medina (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) and the modern city. Today, youโll immerse yourself in the old cityโs atmosphere, exploring palaces, mosques, and gardens. The ruins of El Badi Palace still hint at its former splendor, once decorated with gold, marble, and precious woods.
Wander through the oriental bazaar, where youโll find items rarely sold elsewhere: traditional leather slippers, pure argan oil, carved mirrors, decorative boxes, spices, and incense.
Marrakech cuisine deserves special mention. Street food includes hot flatbreads, charcoal-grilled fish, boiled snails, and sweet Moroccan tangerines. Donโt miss harira soup, classic tajine, and local pastries like msemen drizzled with honey and ghee. The day ends flavorful, lively, and unforgettable.

Today begins your multi-day 4WD adventure, with Legzira Beach as the ultimate goal. Youโll drive into the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the dramatic Tizi nโTichka Pass at 2,260 meters. Along the way, youโll pass Berber villages and enjoy mint tea with views of snow-capped peaks.
Continue to the legendary Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, one of Moroccoโs most beautiful fortified villages and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Palm groves soon replace rocky slopes as you approach Ouarzazate, known as the โGateway to the Saharaโ and a famous film location. If time allows, you may visit a desert film studio.
The day ends in the stunning Dades Valley, where youโll enjoy dinner and overnight in a traditional kasbah-style hotel.

Day 3: Dades Valley โ Todra Gorges โ Draa Valley โ Zagora
Travel toward the spectacular Todra Gorges, where sheer cliffs rise up to 300 meters above the riverbed. The route passes remote landscapes, palm-filled oases, and nomadic grazing lands. After crossing the lush Draa Valley, youโll arrive in Zagora for dinner and overnight in a local kasbah hotel.
Day 4: Zagora โ Mhamid โ Erg Chigaga
Continue through the Draa Valley until you reach Mhamid, where the first true Sahara dunes appear. The towering dunes of Erg Chigaga mark the start of your desert adventure. After a camel trek, youโll arrive at a fully equipped Berber camp and spend an unforgettable night beneath the stars of the Sahara.
Day 5: Erg Chigaga โ Foum Zguid โ Tata
Wake early for a stunning sunrise over the dunes, followed by breakfast. Travel toward Tata, a town known for its carpets and colorful clay crafts. The scenery shifts to savannah-like landscapes with flat-topped trees and thorny shrubs. Enjoy refreshing Berber tea after the long drive. Weather permitting, you may cross the dry lakebed of Lake Iriki, famous for its shimmering mirages.
Day 6: Sidi Ifni โ Legzira Beach
Today, you finally reach the Atlantic Ocean. At Legzira Beach, youโll photograph the famous red sandstone arches and, at low tide, drive along the shoreline in your 4WD. For those with energy left, surfing is an option on this wild and beautiful coast.
Day 7: Sidi Ifni โ Agadir โ Essaouira
After breakfast, drive north along the Atlantic coast to Agadir, framed by eucalyptus and pine groves. After lunch, continue to Essaouira. Along the way, you may spot the famous tree-climbing goats feeding on argan trees.
Essaouira is a windswept port city with a refined, laid-back charm. Enjoy fresh seafood at local restaurants or buy shrimp straight from fishermen at the harbor. Dinner and overnight in a traditional riad.
